About the drive
Rishikesh is twenty-five kilometres upstream of Haridwar on a good, fast road, and the drive takes about forty-five minutes outside peak hours. It is the single most requested transfer we run, both for day trips and for guests moving from a Haridwar hotel to an ashram or riverside camp for a longer stay.
We can run it as a straight one-way drop, or as a full day with the car and driver held for you — which is what most guests choose, because Rishikesh is spread out. Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, the Beatles Ashram, Triveni Ghat and the cafés at Tapovan are all several kilometres apart, and having the vehicle waiting means you are not negotiating with an auto in the afternoon heat.
A popular version adds Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, thirty kilometres up into the hills above Rishikesh, and returns to Haridwar in time for the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Tell us at booking and we will plan the day around the aarti timing.
